REV. MRS. SOPHIA VAL-ADDO M.Div, LPN
PRESIDENT
Rev. Sophia Val-Addo was called into the ministry at the tender age of 20 years in 1980 after graduating from high school. She initially received an informal ministerial training and mentorship by a senior minister, Evangelist Yaw Asante. With the preaching team that was organized by Evangelist Asante , she traveled to several rural places in Ghana winning souls for the Lord as itinerary evangelist.
In 1981 she had her first formal ministerial training at All Nations Bible Institute in Nigeriaf and furthered it in 1985 at Christian Service College in Ghana 1985, receiving her Associates degree.
She married and joined her husband as itinerary evangelists and ministers within the Assemblies of God in Ghana and later settled as co-pastor to her husband. She received her ministerial ordination in 1990. She and her family of five traveled to the United States in 1997, where she trained as Licensed Practical Nurse in 2001 and worked in a nursing home to support the family.
She furthered her ministerial education and graduated with a Bachelors in Divinity at Faith Christian University in 2010, and in 2017, she graduated with a Masters in Divinity at Christian Bible College and Seminary. The course in Missions was dear to her heart. One of her life Bible text has been: " I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall l send and who will go for Us?” Then said l, “Here am l! Send me” (Isaiah 6:8).
Over the years, the passion for souls, for the unreached poor and spiritually bound in rural areas, and for the life development of less fortunate people in Africa has burned in her heart. Since 2003, Rev. Sophia has traveled to Ghana almost every year as a missionary, teaming up with existing local churches and ministers and medical personnel. She conducts open-air crusades, cleanup campaigns, church planting and medical missions depending on the need of each community and as the Lord leads her. She rejoices and shares with many on her return the good hand of the Lord and the demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit to save multitudes, heal the sick and set captives free. Many people are blessed through her ministry in Ghana and Liberia.
Her husband, Rev. Dr. Joseph Val-Addo, encouraged her to found African Indigenous Missions (AIM) as a platform for her missionary endeavors, and in 2016 the organization was inaugurated. AIM is a non-profit corporation, which operates exclusively for religious and charitable purposes as a 501(c)(3) organization.
